Mrs. Virginia Lousie Whitaker Helton, age 91, of 20 Helton Dr., Buchanan passed away Sunday, November 23, 2003. Mrs. Helton was born in Haralson County on May 16, 1912. She was the daughter of the late Mr. Charlie Whitaker and the late Mrs. Maggie Bishop Whitaker. Mrs. Helton was a homemaker. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Johnny Lee Hoyt Helton; three sons, Mr. Gerald Helton, Mr. Hoyt Helton, and Mr. Michael Helton; four sisters, Mrs. Gussie Arnold, Mrs. Maude Jordan, Mrs. Abbe Shumkaker, and Mrs. Mattie Wingo; three brothers, Mr. Whit Whitaker, Mr. Roy Whitaker, and Mr. Morg Whitaker.
Survivors include two daughters, Ms. Judy Helton of Franklin, and Mrs. Susan Gibbs of Buchanan; ten grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, November 25, 2003 at 4:00 P.M. from Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel with Rev. Harold Hamrick officiating. Music will be rendered by Ms. Michelle Hicks. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Joey Pollard, Jeff Cook, Nick Sullivan, Shane Myers, Travis Pollard, and Michael Langley.
Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel of Buchanan is in charge of the arrangements.
