Mr. Benjamin Franklin “B.F.” Eaves, age 86, of 530 Northside Drive, Carrollton formerly of Buchanan passed away Friday, Feburary 2, 2007. Mr. Eaves was born to Rufus Jackson Eaves and Beatrice Philpot Eaves on May 25, 1920. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II in the European Theatre and was retired from the Arrow Company. Mr. Eaves was a deacon at Tallapoosa East Baptist Church and was the song leader for many years. He was also a member of the Buchanan Lions Club for many years. Mr. Eaves was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Aileen Eaves Smith; and one brother, Woodly Eaves.
Survivors include his wife of fifty nine years, Lucy Ridley Eaves of Carrollton; one son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Kathy Eaves of Bremen; one sister, Sara Rogers of Bremen; one brother, Rev. Phil Eaves of Buchanan; two grandchildren, Lauren Eaves of Bremen and Jared Eaves of Nashville, TN; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, February 5, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. from the Tallapoosa East Baptist Church with Dr. Thomas Ward and Dr. W.A. Ivie officiating. Music will be rendered by musicians from the Tallapoosa East Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the Tallapoosa East Baptist Church with the Deacons of the Church serving as pallbearers. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be members of the Buchanan High School Class of 1938 and residents of Merrill Gardens. Military honors at the graveside will be provided by the Haralson County Veterans Association.
Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to the Friends of the Buchanan Public Library.
