Mrs. Alice Thomas McBurnett, age 80, of 1030 Morgan Rd., Temple passed away Thursday, January 1, 2004. Mrs. McBurnett was born in Haralson County on June 8, 1923. She was the daughter of the late Mr. John William Thomas and the late Mrs. Ella Farr Thomas. Mrs. McBurnett was retired from the Sewell Manufacturing Company. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Lemon McBurnett; four sisters, Mrs. Tharon Lammons, Mrs. Ruth Carroll, Mrs. Evelyn Hicks, and Mrs. Bonnie Johnson; and three brothers, Mr. R.A. Thomas, Mr. Walter Frank Thomas, and Mr. Johnny Thomas.
Survivors include a number of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, January 3, 2004 at 3:00 P.M. from Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel with Rev. Clarence Agan officiating. Music will be rendered by Rev. Buddy Gentry. Interment will follow in the Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Tallapoosa with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Donald Carroll, Bil Thomas, Tim Pike, Lee Dobbs, James Johnson, and Kenneth Johnson.
Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel of Buchanan is in charge of the arrangements.
