1924 - 2004
Mr. Hansel David Collins, age 79, of Buchanan passed away Friday, January 16, 2004. Mr. Collins was born in Whitfield County, GA on May 27, 1924. He was the son of the late Mr. Jesse James Collins and the late Mrs. Ruth Viola Henry Collins. Mr. Collins was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Navy. He was a retired automobile mechanic. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Mr. Hansel David Collins, Jr.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Myrtle Estes Collins of Buchanan; two sons, Mr. Thomas R. Collins of Roswell and Mr. David M. Collins of Cedar Bluff, AL; one step-daughter, Ms. Laura Warner of Acworth; two step-sons, Mr. Robert L. Warner of Acworth and Mr. Richard A. Warner of Decatur; two grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, January 18, 2004 at 2:00 P.M. from Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel with Danny Hutcheson officiating. Interment will follow in the Buchanan City Cemetery.
