1934 - 2004
Mr. Robert Alvin Gaither, Jr., age 69. of 524 Pleasant Grove Rd., Rockmart passed away Tuesday, March 30, 2004. Mr. Gaither was born in North Carolina on October 4, 1934. He was the son of the late Mr. Robert Alvin Gaither, Sr. and the late Mrs. Ruby Guffey Gaither. Mr. Gaither was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a retired mortgage banker.
Survivors include his wife, Jane; two sons, Mr. Brian Gaither of Suwanee, and Mr. Todd Gaither of Columbia, SC; one sister, Mrs. Nanearl Benson of Statesville, NC; one step daughter, Mrs. Tina Lindsey of Dallas; one step son, Mr. Tim Steele of St. Petersburg, FL; three grandchildren; five step grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, April 2, 2004 at 2:00 P.M. from the Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church with Rev. David Lindsey and Danny Hutcheson officiating. Music will be rendered by Rev. Buddy Gentry. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Ted Smtih, George Smith, Doug Bedell, Scott Burnett, and Jim Bailey.
Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel of Buchanan is in charge of the arrangements.
