Mr. John Henry Vines, Sr., age 74, of 125 Vines Dr., Buchanan passed away Wednesday, April 14, 2004. Mr. Vines was born in Haralson County on January 9, 1930. he was the son of the late Mr. John Lawrence Vines and the late Mrs. Ethel Kerr Vines. Mr. Vines was a retired school bus driver.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lizzie Mae Hulsey Vines of Buchanan; one son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. John Henry (Opal) Vines, Jr.; four sisters, Ms. Jeanette Callihan of Buchanan, Mrs. Mary Greenway of Cedartown, Mrs. Pauline Gilliard of Buchanan, and Mrs. Faye Crawford of Cedartown; two brothers, Mr. Frank Vines of Buchanan, and Mr. Howard Vines of Felton; one grand daughter and grand son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Jason (Lisa) Hudgens of Buchanan; one grand son and grand daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Christopher (Tracey) Vines of Buchanan; one great grand daughter, Miss Laurel Vines of Buchanan; and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, April 16, 2004 at 3:00 P.M. from New Canaan Baptist Church with Rev. Dan Currin, Rev. Billy Vines, and Bro. Jason Hudgens officiating. Music will be rendered by Debbie Hammond, Tina Brannon, and Ricky Weaver. Interment will follow in the New Canaan Baptist Church Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Max Cook, Dorsey Hulsey, James Williams, Keith Vines, Larry Anderson, and Bradley Vines. Honorary pallbearers will be Freddy Hulsey and Cecil Hulsey.
Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel of Buchanan is in charge of the arrangements.
