Mr. Phillip Larry Bridgers, Sr., age 51, of 321 West Atlanta St., Tallapoosa passed away Saturday, April 24, 2004. Mr. Bridgers was born in Johnson County, North Carolina on December 28, 1952. He was the son of the late Mr. Carlie Bridgers and the late Mrs. Nancy Woods Bridgers. Mr. Bridgers was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a retired truck driver. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Mr. Milford Bridgers.
Survivors include one daughter, Miss Misty Bridgers of Tallapoosa; two sons, Mr. Brent Bridgers of Huntsville, AL and Mr. Phillip L. Bridgers, Jr. of Villa Rica; two sisters, Mrs. Jean Adams and Mrs. Elizabeth Case both of Modesto, CA; one brother, Mr. Reggie Bridgers of Buchanan; three grandchildren; Phillip L. Bridgers, III, Shelby Bridges, and Madison Bridgers; and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, April 27, 2004 at 4:00 P.M. from the West Georgia Worship Center with Rev. Ricky Shirley and Rev. Roy Frashier officiating. Music will be rendered by Rev. Ricky Shirley, Ashton Shirley, and Randy Burris. Interment will follow in the Buchanan Church Of God Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Greg Johnson, Keith Green, Joel Williams, Randy Burris, Carlie Bridgers, and Darron Shirley. Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Mourer and Roy Scruggs.
Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel of Buchanan is in charge of the arrangements.
