1928 - 2004
Mr. William Edward "Billy" Dewberry, age 75, of 2243 Liberty Church Rd., Temple passed away Friday, June 4, 2004. Mr. Dewberry was born in Haralson County on October 15, 1928. He was the son of the late Mr. Rufus Dewberry and the late Mrs. Ruth Rutledge Dewberry. Mr. Dewberry was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a retired truck driver. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Sue Dewberry and Dorothy Stephens; and one brother, Mr. Harold Dewberry.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Betty Elizabeth Jackson Dewberry; two sons, Mr. David Dewberry of Carrollton and Mr. Danny Dewberry of Temple; four sisters, Mrs. Linda Newborn of Buchanan, Mrs. Barbara Cole and Mrs. Norma Shaw both of Temple, and Mrs. Sandra Funk of Anniston, AL; five brothers, Mr. James Dewberry of Temple, Mr. Jack Dewberry, Mr. Joe Dewberry, and Mr. Ray Dewberry all of Bremen, and Mr. Hershel Dewberry of Waco; four grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, June 6, 2004 at 3:00 P.M. from Mount Carmel Baptist Church with Rev. Clarence Agan and Dr. Corky Addison officiatng. Music will be rendered by Corky and Wanda Addison, and Ronnie and Judy Robinson. Interment will follow in the District Line United Methodist Church Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Scott Dewberry, Timmy Dewberry, Gary Dewberry, Ricky Dewberry, Greg Dewberry, and Dennis Dewberry.
