Mr. J D Duke, age 71, of Buchanan passed away Tuesday, January 11, 2005. Mr. Duke was born in Randolph County, Alabama on March 21, 1933. He was retired from Gold Kist Poultry.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Bradley Duke of Buchanan; one son, Mr. Dwayne Goodman of Mt. Zion; two sisters, Emaline Huddleston and Nancy Gann both of Randolph County, AL; one brother, William Duke of Randolph County, AL; four grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, January 14, 2005 at 3:00 P.M. from Hutcheson’s Memorial Chapel with Rev. Raymond Cash, Rev. Oscar Cash, and Rev. Van Brown officiating. Music will be rendered by the Welcome Baptist Church Singers. Interment will follow in the Welcome Baptist Church Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: David Triplett, Jerry Dewberry, Ricky Dewberry, Jim Garner, Tommy Whitman, and Richard Dewberry.
Hutcheson’s Memorial Chapel of Buchanan is in charge of the arrangements.
