Mr. Able Nathaniel Bishop, age 83, of 112 Pecan St., Bremen passed away Thursday, January 27, 2005. Mr. Bishop was born in Haralson County on June 23, 1921. He was the son of the late William Oscar Bishop and the late Etta Kate Shead. Mr. Bishop was a veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II and was retired from Allied Chemical Company. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Edna Rice Bishop.
Survivors include his wife, Edna West Bishop of Bremen; three daughters, Wanda Joy Schible of Jacksonville, FL, Judy Nell Dickinson of Carrollton, and Iris Elaine Lassiter of Doerun; two sons, Aaron Nathaniel Bishop of Douglasville and John Timothy Bishop of Rockmart; four sisters, Naomi Sims of Temple, Nell Whitton of Bremen, Mildred Monroe of Bremen, and Annie Pearl Posey of North Carolina; two brothers, Carl Bishop of College Park and Denver Bishop of Felton; fifteen grandchildren; and a number of great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, and other relatives.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, January 30, 2005 at 2:00 P.M. from Mountain View Baptist Church with Rev. L.A. Tapp and Rev. Tom Barfield officiating. Music will be rendered by Rev. L.A. Tapp and Rev. Buddy Gentry. Interment will follow in the Mountain View Baptist Church Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Pearson Flynt, David Bratcher, Amos Bishop, John Bishop, Jaosn Bishop, and Avery Hartley.
