Mr. Dewey E. Parrish, age 83, of Buchanan passed away Thursday, March 24, 2005. Mr. Parrish was born in Haralson County on April 18, 1921. He was the son of the late Mr. John Walt Parrish and the late Mrs. Minnie Vastie Ewing Parrish. Mr. Parrish was a veteran of the United States Army Air Corp serving during World War II and was a retired carpenter. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Timothy John Parrish.
Survivors include his wife, Reba Adams Parrish of Buchanan; two daughters and sons-in-law, Paricia D. and Edward Robinson of Tallapoosa and Linda and Grant Humphry of Burbank, IL; three sons, Donald L. Parrish of Burbank, IL, Dewey Parrish, II of Bradley, IL, and Darryl Parrish of Anchorage, AK; two step daughters and step sons-in-law, Brenda and Henry McFarland of Temple and Teresa and James Bagwell of Smyrna; one step son and daughter-in-law, Donald Lee and Sheila Cauthen of Acworth; one sister, Ora Lambert of Buchanan; thirteen grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; three step grandchildren; one step great grandchild; and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, March 26, 2005 at 2:00 P.M. from Hutcheson’s Memorial Chapel with Rev. Thomas Ward officiating. Interment will follow in the Mount Vernon Baptist Baptist Church Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Jason Shell, Jimmy Jones, Henry McFarland, James Bagwell, Chad Graham, and Leo Granados.
