Mr. Lenward Franklin Richards of 65 Red Oak Drive, Carrollton, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, July 19, 2005. He was 72.
Mr. Richards was born May 23, 1933 in Clay County, Alabama to the late Bennie and Minnie Sara Pierce Richards. Along with his wife, Rachel, he owned and operated Big R Produce in Bowdon. He was also of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife, Rachel Warren Richards; daughter and son-in-law, Kim Elmore and her husband, Hinton, of Opp, Alabama; step-daughter, Julie Hutcheson and her husband, Terry, of Bremen; sister, Maureen Williamson and her husband, Jerry, of Bowdon; 2 grandchildren and 4 step-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mr. Lenward Richards will be held Thursday, July 21, 2005 at 4:00 p.m. at Ephesus Baptist Church with Rev. Barry Taylor officiating. Prior to the service, his body will lie in state from 3:30 until 4:00. Interment will follow in the Ephesus Cemetery. Christopher Marlow, Jeffrey Marlow, Michael Elmore, David Williamson, Mike Rogers, Victor Barnes, Carl Rooks, and Pete Noles will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, July 20, 2005 from 5:00 until 9:00 p.m.
