VELMA LEE BLANKS
Mrs. Velma Lee Blanks age 93 of Oak Grove Church Road, Carrollton, Georgia died Tuesday; July 25, 2005.
She was born in Cleburne County Alabama July 17, 1912 the daughter of the late Otis and Vassie Smith Allen. She was a member of Camp Creek Baptist Church and was a retired employee of LaMar Manufacturing Co.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her 1st husband Basil McDaniel and her 2nd husband R.T. Blanks daughter Julia Wise and a son Wayne McDaniel.
Survivors include a daughter Janice Cason of Ranburne, AL. 13 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, several great-great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-great-grandchild.
Brother Simeon Allen of Heflin, AL. Two sisters Bobbie Baughn of Bowdon, GA. and Avil Spears of Roanoke, AL.
Funeral services will be held Friday; July 29, 2005 at 2:00 P.M. from the chapel of Rainwater Funeral Home with Rev. Tommy Bailey officiating. Interment will follow in Gold Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery (Randolph County Alabama) The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 5-9 P.M.
Rainwater Funeral Home of Bowdon, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.
