1947 - 2009
Jerry D. Schoolcraft, Sr., 61, Langsville, went to be with the Lord on Jan. 2, 2009, at his residence following a battle with cancer.
He was born Oct. 13, 1947, in Richwood, W.Va., son of the late Charles Schoolcraft and Lillian Durham. He was a former Gallia County Deputy of eight years where he worked as Sgt. Criminal Investigator. He also worked at the Gallia County Landfill.
Surviving are his wife, Barbara Schoolcraft; three children, Paul (Tammy Clary) Yost, Danville, Patricia (Ivan) Brumfield Jr., Crown City, Nina (Jim) Brumfield, Gallipolis; grandchildren, Jasmine and Michael Charles Yost, Talissa OShae and Miranda Nichole Brumfield, Aaron Don Schoolcraft, Cody James and Dylan Cole Brumfield; and four brothers, Marvin (Elva) Schoolcraft, Danville; James (Diane) Schoolcraft, Langsville; Roger (Mary) Schoolcraft, Shade; Timmy (Bridgett) Roberts, Webster Springs, W.Va.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Jerry Don Schoolcraft, Jr.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday at the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton, with Rev. Tharon Durham officiating. Burial will be at the discretion of the family. The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorial gifts be made to the Jerry Schoolcraft Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 148, Vinton, OH 45686.
