William Earl Cray Sr. 87, (Wilkesville Community), Langsville, Ohio, passed away Friday, January 9, 2009, in Holzer Medical Center, Jackson. He was born March 19, 1921 in Athens County, Ohio, son of the late James Harrison Cray and Lena Mae Cray.

He retired from the Frick Gallagher Manufacturing Co., Wellston, following thirty-five years service and was also a self employed dairy farmer. He was a W.W.II U.S. Army Veteran and a member of the Albany VFW Post and the Joseph Freeman American Legion Post 476, Wilkesville. In addition he was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Wilkesville; Star Grange, Dexter; Wilkesville F&AM Orphans Friend Lodge 207; and the WiIkesville

Chapter OES 444.

Earl is survived by his wife of sixty two years, Dorothy A. Cray, and two children:

William E. "Bill" Cray Jr., Wilkesville, OH

Jennifer L. (Frank) Pope, Allentown, PA.

And several nieces and nephews

He was preceded in death by two brothers:

Charles and Dale Cray.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM., Wednesday, January 14, 2009, in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton, with Rev. Jim Snyder officiating. Burial will follow in the Vinton Memorial Park. Military Grave Side Rites will be conducted by the Wellston American Legion Post 371.

Friends may call at the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton, on Tuesday, 5:00 - 8:00 PM.

I am thinking of you and yours. Earl and Dorothy were wonderful family to me and I have the fondest memories of our times together. With time and geography between us, I am hopeful the years of memories afford you comfort during this time. Best, Tiffiney

Jerry, Leah, Stacie and I are very sorry for your loss. Earl was very special to our family and a very good neighbor. We will all miss him and wish your family our sympathy in your time of grief.
