Raymond Warren Smith, 89 of Vinton, Ohio passed away Tuesday March 10, 2009 at St. Marys Hospital, Huntington, W.Va..
He was married for 53 years to the late Mildred Wilfong-Smith.
Raymond was born on June 17th, 1919 in Caretta, W.Va.Son of the late Otey Warren Smith and Fronie M. Hicks-Smith.
He moved to Ohio from Ragland W.Va. where he worked as an electrician for Island Creek Coal Mining Company for 30 Years.
He is survived by two sons,
Olen Warren Smith and wife Carol of Port St Lucie, Florida ;
Ronald Smith of Vinton, Ohio.
Two Grand daughters, Melissa McKinney and husband Vince :
Melinda Gose and husband David
and Great Grandson, Justin McKinney all of St Lucie, Florida.
One brother, WilliamF. Smith of Tapphancock, Virginia.
In additon to his wife, Raymond is preceded in death by
two daughters, Diane Smith and Mary Smith;
one brother Norman Smith
and two sisters, Jeanette Claybrook and Margaret Smith.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 13, 2009 in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton, Ohio. Burial will follow in the Vinton Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, 5:00-7:00 p.m..
