Verlie Smith, 86, Bidwell, passed away on March 25, 2009 at Four Winds Nursing Center in Jackson. She was born on November 17, 1922 in Logan, WV to the late Shade and Ethel Mullins Workman. Verlie spent her life as a housewife and attended Deer Creek Freewill Baptist Church.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Ward (Connie) Smith of Bidwell, two grandchildren, Robin (John) Sayre of Pt. Pleasant, WV, Misty (Heath) Denney of Bidwell, OH and four great-grandchildren, two sisters, Birdie (Kenneth) Robinson of WV and Garnet (Frank) Hensley of WV.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Smith, on February 23, 1990;a son, Ozie Smith, an infant son and daughter, six brothers, and one sister.
Grave-side services will be held 12: 00 Noon Friday, March 27, 2009 in Vinton Memorial Park with Brother Mickey Maynard officiating. Burial will follow.
