1968 - 2009
William Todd Deel, 40 of Thurman, Ohio, passed away on Friday, March 27, 2009, in the OSU Medical Center, Columbus, following an extended illness. He was born May 21, 1968 in Gallipolis, Ohio, son of Roger and Linda Burger Deel of Vinton.
He was a 1986 Graduate of North Gallia High School, earned a B.S. Degree in Education from the University of Rio Grande, class of 1999. He was employed by the Gallia County Local Schools where he was the Intervention Specialist at the River Valley Middle School, Bidwell and a RVHS Varsity football assistant coach. Previously he had served as an assistant Varsity Football Coach at Southeastern High School and a Varsity Assistant Basketball Coach at the River Valley High School . He was U.S. Air Force Veteran and attended the Vinton Baptist Church.
Todd married Tracy Lewis on March 3, 1990 in Vinton, Ohio and she survives with a son, Zakary Deel and a daughter, Madison Deel.
In addition to his parents Roger and Linda, he is survived by a brother, Gregg (Karen) Deel of Vinton; Mother-in-law, Barbara Lewis of Thurman; Brothers-in-law: Phil (Tina) Lewis of Vinton, Chris (Judy) Lewis of Thurman and Scott (Leesa) Lewis of Oak Hill; Nieces and Nephews: Jordan and Megan Deel, Jenny Davis, Whitney, Ian, Chris, Amanda, Dylan and Dalton Lewis. and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Todd was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Roy and Mary Fern Burger and paternal grandparents Hayes and Esta Deel.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM,, Tuesday, March 31, 2009, in the Vinton Baptist Church, 11818 SR 160, Vinton, with Rev. Chester Hess and Rev. Marvin Sallee officiating.. Burial will follow in the C&M Cemetery, Oak Hill, Ohio. Full Military Rites will be conducted at the Grave Site.
Friends may call at the Vinton Baptist Church on Monday. 4:00 - 8:00 PM on Monday. Arrangements are by the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton.
In lieu of Flowers, Memorial Gifts may be made to: Todd Deel Benefit Fund at any Ohio Valley Bank Branch.
