Danny L. Browning, 70, Vinton, Ohio passed away surrounded by his loving family and friends, Sunday, June 28, 2009 in Holzer Medical Center, Gallipolis. He was born on August 20, 1938, son of the late Joe and Addie Carter Browning. He was a self-employed dry wall finisher, a US Army Veteran, a former member of the International Brotherhood of Painters and Allied Trades, an avid outdoorsman and attended Vinton Baptist Church. Danny was politically active and a lifelong member of the Democratic Party.

Danny married Nila Smith on October 18, 1961 in Cincinnati, Ohio, and she survives with a daughter, Sherry Veazey, and children, Jeremy Browning, Brandon Veazey and Cindel Veazey, Circleville, OH.; a son, Joe (Dawn) Browning, and children, Cory Browning, Michael Haney, Kayla Browning and Ethan Browning, Bidwell, OH; two great-grandchildren, Eliza Browning and Roman Veazey; one brother, Wandle Buzz (Ruth) Browning, Central, S.C.; two sisters, Wanda Brooks, Brenton, W.Va.., and Linda (Paul) Estrella, Henderson, NV.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald Joe Browning and Rondle R. Browning and four sisters, Vaunda Lehmann, Hazel Morgan, Velva Ilene Browning and Olvie Browning.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, July 2, 2009, at the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, Gallipolis with Pastor Heath Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow in Ohio Valley Memory Gardens. Gallipolis.

Military Grave Side Rites will be conducted by the Gallia County Veterans Service Organiztions.

Friends may call at the Funeral Home on Wednesday, 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM.

Joe, Since we have moved I've been out of touch with things in Gallipolis, but I read in the Tribune online about your loss. I certainly remember Danny from visits to the office. Please accept my condolences during this difficult time. Take care, John S
