Margaret McCormick Blazer, 94 of Gallipolis was called home by her Heavenly Father on Wednesday July 15, 2009 at her residence. She was born July 9, 1915 in Gallipolis daughter of the late Clarence Judd McCormick and Leona Durr McCormick Lehman. She was a graduate of Gallia Academy High School, Holzer School of Nursing and was a retired Registered Nurse. Margaret was a member of the Gallia County Senior Citizens Center, a dedicated and active member of Grace United Methodist Church, Gallipolis. She was beloved by many in the community for her role as a spiritual mentor and her vigilant prayer life.
Margaret is survived by two daughters, Jo Ann Nibert of Gallipolis, Jane (Robert) Phillips of Florrisant, Colorado, two sons, Richard (Elizabeth) Blazer of Groton, Connecticut, Michael Blazer of San Antonio, Texas, 14 grandchildren, several great- grand children and great-great grandchildren, three sisters-in-law, Ruth Vanco of Thurman, Martha Blazer of Lancaster, Bernice Epp of Lebanon and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd Blazer on January 30, 1994, a sister Ethel Robinson and a brother Gardner McCormick.
In accordance with her wishes cremation services will be conducted by the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, Gallipolis. Grave side services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Wednesday July 22, 2009 in the Mound Hill Cemetery with Rev. Bill Thomas officiating. The family will receive friends in the Grace United Methodist Church dining room following the grave side service.
