Alma passed away Wednesday e evening, October 6, 2010 at the Alamo Nursing Home. She was born September 2, 1919 in Big Rapids, MI the daughter of the late Lola and Jane (Gillmer) London. Alma was a graduate of Grandville High School in 1937 and worked as a cashier for Old Kent Bank and then in at the Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph, MI. before retiring. Alma lived at Miller Court in Paw Paw for several years and loved sewing, crafts, and cooking. In 1944 she was united in marriage to Robert Boynton who preceded her in death in 1965 and then on January 1, 1969 in Hartford, MI was united in marriage to Clarence Henry Yates who preceded her in death in 1992. She was also preceded in death by step-children, Betty Wood, Silvia Bond, Florence Berends and Lloyd Yates; 2 brothers, Ray and Jack London and a sister Margaret Smith. Surviving are 2 sons, Robert (Gwinn) Boynton of Kanner, LA and James (Lorna) Boynton of Upper Peninsula of Michigan; 2 step-sons, Richard (Ann) Yates of Bangor and Raymond Yates of Hartford, MI; 9 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. There will neo visitation or services as cremation has taken place. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Southwest Michigan. Arrangements are by the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw.
