Mamie passed away Saturday evening, January 1, 2011 at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo. She was born May 11, 1921 in Moulton, AL the daughter of the late Herman and Emiline (Garrison) Brewington. Mamie was a member of the Lawton Church of God and enjoyed quilting. On October 6, 1941 in Moulton, Al, Mamie was united in marriage to William Russell Nelson who preceded her in death on September 14, 1996. She was also preceded in death by 2 brothers, Paul and Leon Brewington and a sister, Eva Grisby. Surviving are 5 children, Wayne Nelson of Linsborg, KS, Wendell (Ellen) Nelson of Lawton, Glenda (Paul) Reidt of Paw Paw, Debra (Tom) Mills of Lawton and Darlene Rardon of Linsborg, KS; 16 Grandchildren; 24 Great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Beatrice Rylant and Edith White; 3 brothers, Leslie, Edsel and Chester Brewington; many nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends Wednesday evening 6-8 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw. Funeral services will be held Thursday 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church, Lawton. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Lawton. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.

i really miss you grandma . i never thought this day will come so soon . it feels like it was just yesterday i was saying i love you and i cant wait to see you. but the last time i seen you was in your beautiful casket looking so peaceful. i love you and always will.
