Louise went home to be in the arms of her Lord on January 4, 2011. She was born on February 15, 1915 in South Bend, IN to the Late Henry and Emma Oest. Louise graduated from Edwardsburg High School in 1932 and was united in marriage to Arthur Pete Schuelke on October 12, 1935 in South Bend, IN. She retired from CTS Corporation in 1980. Louise and her husband were active as founding members of Trinity Lutheran Church in Paw Paw. Together they founded Kids at Heart, a ministry for seniors; Priscilla Society an organization for the women of the church, and was active in the Martha Guild serving as President and Vice President of the organization. She started The Bookcase to sell cards, jewelry, and Bibles and headed up many Church Bazaars, selling baked goods and handicrafts to raise money for Trinity Lutheran Church and School. On June 27, 1995 Louise was preceded in death by her husband Arthur P. Schuelke. She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Helen Gygi, Gertrude Miller, and Bernice Clark; brother Herb Oest. Surviving are her sister, Hazel Ralston of Niles, MI; brother, Henry Oest of Lakeside, CA; five nephews: John Ralston, Niles, MI, Jeff Ralston, Niles, MI, Richard Gygi, Franklin, TN, Tom Schuelke, Edwardsburg, MI, and Kennedy Ebersole, Paw Paw, MI; seven nieces, Wendy Palumbo, Port Tobacco, MD, Carolyn Hoeppner, White Pigeon, MI, JoEllen Delp, Union, MI, Ginny Burkhead, Elkhart, IN, Maxine Baker, Elkhart, IN, Marjorie Phillipi, Niles, MI, and Lois Sheler, Granger, IN. Family will receive friends Tuesday (1/11) 6-8 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw and Wednesday morning 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Paw Paw where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Mattawan. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church in Paw Paw.
