1926 - 2015

Opal Neace Smith, 89, of Oldtown, Kentucky went to be with the Lord, Monday, April 27, 2015 at Wurtland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Wurtland, Kentucky.

Mrs. Smith was born March 19, 1926 in Greenup County, Kentucky a daughter of the late Ben and Madge Allen Neace.

She was a loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and great grandmother.

She had worked at Henry Ford Motor Company in Ysplinta, Michigan where they assembled B-17 and B-24 Liberator Bombers. She had also worked at the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company.

She was preceded in death by

Her husband Oscar Smith.

3 brothers Millard Neace, Floyd Neace, and Hubert Neace.

2 sisters Gladys Friend and Grace Flannery.

1 grandson Ryan Kenneback.

She is survived by

1 son John W. and Patty Smith of Oldtown, KY

4 daughters

Evelyn and Donald Potter of Oldtown, KY

Ellen and Santana Reyes of Arlington, Texas

Scarlet and Hal Geiger of Helensville, Wisconsin

Emma and Richard Kennebeck of Cincinnati, Ohio

1 brother Charlie Neace of Greenup

2 sisters

Lucy Martin of Argillite, KY

Inace “Bonnie” Underwood of Oldtown, KY

14 grandchildren

17 great-grandchildren

And many nieces, nephews and cousins that will miss her.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 pm Saturday, May 2, 2015 at the Smith Cemetery in Oldtown by Floyd Neace, Burtis Neace, Hal Geiger and Richard Kennnebeck.

Visitation will be noon until 1:00 pm Saturday at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup.
