Margaret Eloise Pugh, 89, of Shawnee, Kan., formerly of Ashland, passed away Saturday, April 16, 2016 in Shawnee Mission Medical Center.
She was born Jan. 19, 1927, in Marlinton, W.Va., to the late Archie and Myrtle Sheets Pugh.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, R. Kevin Stemmer; a brother, Julian Pugh; and a sister, Ruth Payne.
She was a retired supervisor of medical records at King's Daughters Medical Center. She was a former member of Eastern Star and a member of Centenary United Methodist Church. She enjoyed traveling with her family and friends and was an avid University of Kentucky Fan.
She is survived by her sons, Chris Stemmer and wife, Sara of Mount Juliet, Tenn., and Terry Stemmer of Shawnee; a grandson, Tyler Stemmer and wife, Brooke of Mt. Juliet; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, April 22, 2016, at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland and will be officiated by Dr. Isaac Nicholson. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
