Mario E. Citti, 88, of Ironton, passed away Thursday, June 2, 2016, in Wyngate Assisted Living in Proctorville.
He was born July 31, 1927, in Portsmouth, to the late Ernesto and Sandrina Cure Citti.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 67 years, Bonnie Joyce Gillum Citti, in 2015.
Mario was the former owner of Citti Gateway Grocery Store and a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. He was a Kentucky colonel and enjoyed watching horse racing, college football and little league baseball.
He leaves behind a son, Michael (Terry) Citti of Ironton; a daughter, Tanya (Jim) Riffe of Charleston, S.C.; two grandchildren, Alison (Jim) Aiello and Brian (Talley) Citti; and two great-grandchildren, Chase and Reese Citti.
Entombment will be at 11 a.m. Monday, June 6, 2016, at Rose Hill Burial Park Mausoleum Chapel in Ashland with Father John P. Noe officiating.
