Chops Davis, 77, of Ashland, passed away, Friday, Sept. 30, 2016, in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland. He was born Feb. 8, 1939, in Beetle, to the late Andrew Jackson and Nan Lee Salyers Davis. He was a member of Grandview Church of God. He was a lifetime member of Elks Lodge B.P.O.E. 350, Fred M. Gross Masonic Lodge 953 F&AM, El Hasa Shrine and was a Kentucky colonel. Chops was a former part owner in Weinfurtners Pontiac and retired as an Agent from Nationwide Insurance after 23 years of service. Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 55 1/2 years, Anne Cooper Davis of Ashland; three daughters, Amy and Brian Cornette of Mt. Sterling, Krisi and Matt Figley of Ashland and Andee and Tracy Scaff of Ashland; one brother, John and Rosemary Davis of Ashland; a sister, Carol Ann and Wayne Stemmer of North Port, Fla.; a sister-in-law, Glenda Cooper Orndorff of Ashland; ten grandchildren, Jenka, Ashleigh, Tyler (Robin), Erica (Brandon), Dylan (Shana), Paige, Hunter, Maddie, Noah and Haven; eight great-grandchildren, Jacob, Maddox, Brody, Ashton, Blake, Ellie, Hunter and Harper; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends. A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2016, in Ashland Cemetery with words of comfort by Pastor Trey Parsons.
