Imagene "Jean" Griffith Prince Stewart, 89, of Russell, formerly of Ashland, passed away Friday, Sept. 8, 2017, in Oakmont Manor under the care of Hospice.

She was born July 18, 1928, in Summit (Meade Station) to the late Lois Marie Delaney Kazee and Curtis Kazee and Alex Griffith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Russell Stewart; her only sister, Rena Mae Kazee; and daughter-in-law, Diana Lynn Prince.

She was a Homemaker for most of her adult life but worked at the Puremilk Company/Soda Fountain in her younger days. She had also been a caregiver for the elderly. She enjoyed sewing and dressing up in her fancy dresses to go the Senior citizens' dances, where she made lots of friends.

She had formerly been a member of Gospel Tabernacle Church of God in Ashland and was of the Christian faith.

She is survived by her sons, James Michael (Joyce) Blair of Grayson, Roy Lee Prince (Dana Newsom) of Raceland and Jerry Curtis Prince of Ashland; two daughters, Maria Ann Rademacher of Russell and Gina Lois (Allen) Woods of Worthington; a special nephew and niece, Paul Lance and Mindy Smith; 8 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2017, at Steen Funeral Home Central Avenue Chapel with Minister Mark Day officiating. Burial will be in Ashland Cemetery.

Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Friends may make contributions to Community Hospice, 1480 Carter Avenue, Ashland, KY 41101.
