Not Listed - 2018

Helen "Jo" Moyer, 91, received her Angel Wings March 11, 2018, after a long health battle.

She was an amazing sister, aunt, and friend to all.

Jo was born June 19, 1926, in North Kenova, Ohio, to Charles and Linnie Moyer, the 8th out of 15 children.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 13 siblings.

She loved being a part of such a big family and spent as much time as she could with them. Jo never missed a chance to be surrounded by her siblings and reminisce about the good and not so good times.

Jo was raised in Ashland from age seven and went to work for Armco Steel Corp in 1943 during World War II. She worked there for 45 years until her retirement in 1988. Two years later she moved to Fort Worth to be near her sisters, Louise Owens and Judy White. Throughout her life she has always been a devoted member of the Methodist Church, never missing a Sunday service or prayer meeting. As a member of United Methodist Church in Ashland, she was a

beloved member of the church choir and helped with volunteer programs. She enjoyed elderly outreach programs and visiting local nursing homes. Jo was

a volunteer at King's Daughter's Medical Center in Ashland.

When Jo moved to Texas in 1990, she immediately became a member at St. Luke United Methodist Church and continued her singing and volunteer work when and where ever she was needed. Her work in the community and church did not skip a beat until her body began to slow her down. But even then Jo always had a smile and a joke to lighten the mood.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Paulette Williams and the staff at Universal Hospice

for their kindness and care for Jo. We are forever grateful.

She is survived by her sister, Judy White of Fort Worth; 24 nieces and nephews; and numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews, who will always remember her laugh and sense of humor.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, March 23, 2018, at Ashland Cemetery Mausoleum.

Steen Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements.
