Ellinore Florence Haggard Garner, 76, of Ashland, strengthened by the grace of

God and fortified by the Sacraments of the Church, passed away Friday, June 29, 2018, in King's Daughters Medical Center.

She was born July 20, 1941, in Ashland, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Herman and Lena Berry Haggard. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings, Paul Haggard, Herbert Haggard, Edith Bramblette, K.B. Haggard, Russell Haggard and Johnny Haggard.

Ellinore was a 1959 graduate of Ashland High School. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Ashland. For the past three years, she resided in Bowling Green, KY, and attended St. Joseph Catholic Church. She and her husband owned and operated Summit Cleaners and she also worked for Ashland Oil, Inc. She was a member of Twice Seven Sewing Club, Ashland Lions Club, Boyd County Homemakers, Red Hat Society, Southern Hills Garden Club, and was an award winning floral designer, photographer, and poet. She was a very involved volunteer with 4-H and UK Cooperative Extension.

Ellinore was a cancer survivor and worked tirelessly to coordinate the annual Relay for Life for the American Cancer Society.

Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband of 47 years, Robert T. Garner of Ashland; son, The Rev. D. Andrew Garner of Ashland; daughter, Joy Jobe and her husband Shane of Argillite; two grandsons, Robert Logan Jobe and Brayden Cooper Jobe; sister, Evelyn Crawford of Ashland; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Thursday, at Steen Funeral Home Central Avenue Chapel. Rosary and Vigil Prayers will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home. Father J. Michael Clark and Father Julio E. Barrera presiding.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held 11 a.m. Friday, July 6, 2018, at Holy Family Catholic Church with Father D. Andrew Canon Garner, KHS presiding. Father Joshua A. McCarty will be the homilist. Burial will follow in Ashland Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Ellinore's memory may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church Restoration Fund, 434 Church Avenue, Bowling Green, KY, 42101; Holy Family Catholic Church, 900 Winchester Avenue, Ashland, KY 41101: or to the American Cancer Society, 4324 13th St, Ashland, KY 41102.
