Edna Stapleton, 79 of Grayson passed away Saturday in Ashland Hospice Community Center following a long illness. She was born December 17, 1925 in Carter Co. a daughter of the late Raymond and Hattie Suttles Jackson. She was the former owner of Edna’s Drive-in, an Avon representative, a former teacher with the Carter Co. School System, a member of the D.A.V. Chapter 17, and of the Missionary Baptist Faith. She was preceded in death by her husband Logan Stapleton in 2004. Her survivors include:

Kawanda Hensley, Samuel Logan Stapleton, Timothy Scott Stapleton, Jennifer Travis, Ramona Carper and Monica Carper.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday 11:00 a.m. at the Malone Funeral Home by the minister Ron Arnett. Burial will be in the Hillcrest Burial Park. Friends may call from 6-9 Tuesday at the Malone Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent to www.timeformemory.com/malone. In lieu of flowers family ask that donations be made to Ashland Community Hospice, 1538 Central Ave. Ashland KY 41101

Edna gave me my first job the day I turned 13! I loved working for her. I have very good memories when I think of her. I'm sorry to hear of her passing.

We are sad to hear of your mothers death. She was a wonderful person. We remember Edna's resturant, the best place to eat years ago. Our thoughts are with you.
