Dear Mr. Holbrook and family, I just learned today about the death of Steve. I hadn't seen Steve for a number of years. But going through four years of high school and competing against him even in grade school basketball. I had no idea he had those kind of health issues. I wish to share in your sorrow. When Steve came into a situation, he made a difference. He was the funny one. We always enjoyed his presence and missed him if he was absent. I know you and your family will certainly miss him. May God bless and comfort you during this time. Vaughn Thomas

I still have the angel Christmas tree ornament that Steve gave me when I was 2 years old, and I hang it on my Christmas tree in Omaha, Nebraska every year. I have many photos of him when he was a young boy, playing on 2nd and 3rd streets in Grayson. I'm very sorry to learn of his death.
