1925 - 2005

Hobert Dewey Lewis, age 80, of Grayson, KY, passed away on Saturday, December 10th, 2005 at his residence.

Mr. Lewis was born September 9th, 1925, at Sandy Hook, KY, a son of the late Lish and Gretta Castle Lewis.

He was employed with the Lake Terminal Railroad of Lorain, OH and was a United States WWII and Korea Army Veteran, a Kentucky Colonel and received a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart and was with the 82nd Airborne Division.

Preceding him in death was a son, Jeff Lewis and two sisters, Della Scott and Elizabeth Garrett.

His survivors included:

1 daughter:

Carol Lewis of Grayson

2 sons:

Jack E. Lewis of Lorain, OH

John David Lewis of Sandy Hook, KY

3 brothers:

Ike Lewis

June Lewis

John Lewis all of Flatwoods, KY

1 sister:

Dorothy

4 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, December 14th, 2005 at 11:00am at the Malone Funeral Home.

Burial will be in the Lewis Family Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening, December 13th, 2005 from 6:00-9:00pm at the funeral home.

My heart goes out to the families of Dewey Lewis,, His sister Martha Elizabeth Lewis/Garris was my dear Aunt and I keep in contact with that side of Dewey's family regulary,,
