1916 - 2006

Dolly Holbrook Ratcliff, age 89, of Grayson, KY, went to be with the Lord Thursday, May 11th, 2006 with her loving family by her side. She was a special lady to all who knew and loved her.

She was born July 7th, 1916 at Louisa, KY, a daughter of the late John and Ollie Thornsbury Holbrook.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Homer Ratcliff in 1984; her brothers Earl, Lev, Proctor and Chilt Holbrook and her sisters Margie Davis and Gladys Jollivette.

Dolly is survived by:

1 daughter and son-in-law:

Christine and Ed Chapman of Pomroy, OH

4 sons and 4 daughters-in-law:

Raybourn and Carole Ratcliff

Gary and Pam Ratcliff all of Orient, OH

Larry and Dian Ratcliff

Milton and Joyce Ratcliff all of Grayson, KY

9 grandchildren:

Donna, Ruthy, Scott, Stephanie, Jason, Lauren, Lacey,

Kristal and Clint;

5 great-grandchildren;

Sisters-in-law:

Belva Holbrook and Maxine Burke

and many loving nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Dolly was a member of the Willard Homemakers Club and The Carter Co. Senior Citizens and she was of the Baptist Faith.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, May 15th, 2006 at 11:00am at the Malone Funeral Home with David Wilcox and David Boggs, ministers. Burial will be in the East Carter County Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 14th, 2006 from 4:00 to 9:00pm and Monday after 9:00am until service time at the funeral home.
