Charles Alfred  ChastainMr. Charles Alfred “Al” Chastain, of Villa Rica, passed away Friday, January 5, 2007 at his residence following an extended illness.

Mr. Chastain was born May 18, 1935 in Carroll County the son of the late Dewren and Frances Willoughby Chastain. Al worked most of his life in Sales as a Bakery Specialist. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Villa Rica and served in the in the Air Force Reserves. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend.

Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Jane Rodgers Chastain, son, Brian Chastain, Peachtree City, daughters and son-in-law, Jana and Andreco Kight, Villa Rica, Kristi Chastain, Carrollton, daughter-in-law, Debbie Chastain, Peachtree City, granddaughters, Kellie, Brenna, and Shelby Chastain, Peachtree City, grandsons, Arrian, Bailor, and Asa Kight, Villa Rica, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his mother and father-in-law, Grover and Lula Mae Rodgers.

Funeral Services will be conducted Monday, January 8, 2006 at 11 o’clock from The First Baptist Church of Villa Rica with Rev. Jeff Jones and Rev. Charles Williams officiating. Music will be provided Ben Pilgreen, Ned Watson, Kelly McCord, and Sharalene Roper.

Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery in Villa Rica.

Pallbearers include Bob Willoughby, Sammy Herrell, James Moran, Ned Watson, Scott Smith, Larry Furr, Chuck Willoughby, and John Willoughby. Honorary Pallbearers will be Edwin Busbin, Ed Tanner, Lamar Moody, Garry Gentry and Sam Rodgers.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 2 until 7 P.M.
