William H. Scott Sr. William Henry Scott Sr., 94, of Charleston, passed away Sunday, June 4, 2017. He was born in Charleston on May 23, 1923, the son of the late William Fitzgerald and Anna Logan Scott.He was preceded in death by sons, Van E. Scott and James E. Scott, both of Charleston; sister, Pearl Elizabeth Hunter of Charleston; brothers, James F. Scott of Maryland and Everett Gough of California.William was united in marriage to Doris Straughter. Their union produced six children.He is survived by sons, Williams H. Scott Jr. (Essie) of Houston, Texas, and Francis A. Scott (Natalie) of Canfield, Ohio, and daughters, Hedy Scott of Charleston and Melissa S. Lewis, San Antonio, Texas. William also leaves to cherish his memory 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, along with a host of family and friends.Service will be at 1 p.m., Friday, June 9, at Grace Bible Church, 600 Kanawha Blvd. W., Charleston. Visitation is an hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Spring Hill Cemetery.Arrangements are in the care of Callender Funeral Home, Charleston.
