Charles Howard Smith, 80, of Charleston, WV, passed away on June 12, 2017.
Charles was born to the parents of the late Richard Carl Smith and Mildred Lucille Whitesides on September 7, 1936, in Ashville, NC. He was a chemical operator at the Carbide Institute Plant.
Charles was married to Betty Mae Smith.
He is survived by sons; Charles Howard Gordon of Charleston, WV and Decarlo Howard Brown (Gracie L. Brown) of Arizona , godson , Larry Moore (Mona) of Charleston, WV and daughters, Lisa Smith Craig of California Annette Marbry of Georgia, Nicole Koren Smith Harrison (Michael) and Michelle Koren Smith of Charleston, WV
Charles also leaves to cherish his memory eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren along with a host of family and friends.
Memorial service will be noon, Saturday, June 17, at Shiloh Baptist Church, 306 Washington Street E, Charleston. The family will receive friends one hour to the service. Arrangements are in the care of Callender Funeral Home, Charleston.
