Margarita (Margie) Martinez was a mother, wife, sister, grandmother and friend to many. She left this life on May 12, 2014 to create a new one with her Lord and Savior. Margie was a resident of Kerrville for many years. Those that knew her will always remember her smile and unconditional love for her family. She worked for Lemon Tree Cleaners for over 10 years. Margie was born on Sept. 13, 1953 in Greeley, CO to Andrew and Anita Hernandez.
She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Vincent Hernandez; son, David Sanchez; father in law, Felizano Martinez; nephew, Evaristo Gauna; sister and best friend, Alice Quintero.
Margie is survived by her husband of 18 years, Pablo Martinez of Kerrville; children, Tina Sanchez of Kerrville, Vincent Sanchez and wife Heather of Kerrville, Adam Sanchez of Kerrville, Johnny Sanchez Jr. of Michigan; sisters, Teresa Gauna of Fredericksburg, Juanita Velasquez and husband Jesus of Eden; brother, George Hernandez and wife America Hernandez of Eden, Sammy Hernandez Sr. of Waco, Andrew Hernandez and wife Elsa of Brady. Margie also leaves to cherish her memory 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. The family expresses a special thank you to Nikki Sanchez and Florienda Casarez.
Visitation will be 1 pm, Wednesday, May 14 at Wrights
Funeral Parlor with family greeting guest from 5 8pm.
Funeral service will be 1:30 pm, Thursday, May 15 at Wrights Funeral Parlor with interment to follow at Mountain View Cemetery. Pallbearers for the service will be John Andrew Sanchez, Joe David Sanchez, Eric Hernandez, Stephen Zuniga, Felix Martinez, Kenny Maughan, Robert Veliz, Lionel Lopez and honorary pallbearer, Jacob Alfaro.
